It also makes it easy to install things without connecting a USB. Those folks will be able to wirelessly back up their phone's files and apps, which is a nice touch. For people who aren't interested in rooting their phone or installing custom ROMs, AirDroid isn't as useful. This app offers a great toolkit for techies who like complete control of their gadget. If you want to watch your phone's videos without downloading, you need to install QuickTime. You can also download app, photo, or video files from your gadget right to your computer for easy backup. It does give you detailed information about your phone's current memory, battery, and signal strength, though. Also, instead of mirroring your phone's background or layout, this app gives you a generic menu with goofy-looking buttons. Sadly, if you're not rooted, you'll miss out on some of the advanced controls. Once you're logged in, you can access your contacts, apps, and all sorts of other information on your phone. Mercifully, there's no desktop client to download and you can connect your phone by scanning a QR code, which feels super cool. It takes a few minutes to finish setting up AirDroid on your computer.

It works best with a rooted phone, but even stock builds of Android might enjoy the enhanced control of their gadget that this app offers. Avoid the app and don't give the company your money.Ever wonder how those video blogs get neat screenshots of their phone to show you an app? AirDroid lets you do that, in addition to controlling plenty of your phone's features.

That I would consider fair if it wasn't for the fact that the software is constantly buggy and the huge security flaws that have been discovered that the company attempts to cover up. I was told by their "support" that they couldn't do that and kept just asking me to try various things to make it work, send them log files etc.

I paid for a premium subscription and as I have over 200 days left on it, I asked for a refund, even just the outstanding amount. Repeated force-closing and attempting to uninstall with multiple reboots didn't help. After repeatedly getting frustrated with it, I decided to uninstall it at which point I discovered I couldn't. It is not possible to reset where the location is. My most recent experience is that it won't allow me to access the SD card on my phone, despite telling the app the location of the card in the filesystem and it showing my files there, the desktop app refuses to access it telling me I must tell the app where the card is. Also recently, the bugs are becoming ridiculous.

Over time though, it has become apparent it has had massive security flaws and the company has not been honest about them until outed online. This app used to be quite good for transferring files and mirroring notifications, etc.

I had to re install and ignore the update. I did and it turned to a shower of mearde.

Don't download the update after youv'e installed. Though it did the job the transfer speed allowed you to make a cuppa before the photo arrived on the Mac, so I installed Air Droid on the Mac and phone and Oh hooo! an image jumps straight over to the Mac and you can just drag it onto the desktop, like, in 2 secs! Fantastic. unless you use I phone with the Mac, so I went Bluetooth between the devices. Getting my head round the IMac was hard enough, but after about 6 months, I am liking it a lot BUT the relationship between an android phone and an IMac is strained to say the least. I'm not an Apple lover anyway and much prefer my Android phones, as I have the freedom to mount as another drive. Premium account: There is no upper limit for the premium account, and you can use all AirDroid remote services freely. When used up the quota, the free account can't use AirDroid Personal in remote mode. Free account: 200MB of remote data quota monthly. I was amazed to see such poor reviews for this app! I recently went over to an Imac as fed up with MS Windows and updates and WIN7 going obsolete. AirDroid Personal Premium can provide more features and a better experience.
